''Mamata cannot provide solution to LF''s misrule in Bengal''

Kolkata, Apr 5 (PTI) Terming the poll alliance between Trinamool Congress and Congress as opportunistic, the BJP today dubbed its former ally Mamata Banerjee as a "symbol of anarchy" who cannot provide solution to the Marxist misrule in West Bengal."People of Bengal are fed up with the Marxist misrule for the past 35 years. But Mamata is not a solution. She is a symbol of anarchy," BJP general secretary Ananth Kumar told a press conference here while releasing the party's manifesto for the state assembly polls."In this situation there is only a nationalist alternative for the people in the state in the form of BJP.The BJP represents the aspirations and voice of the people of Bengal," he said.
Kumar was evasive to a question why the BJP was terming Banerjee as a symbol of anarchy in whom the party had found "virtues" when the Trinamool was an ally of the Atal Behari Vajpayee government."Mamata was a part of our NDA government at the Centre which stood for development and reforms. But now she has entered into an opportunistic alliance with the Congress for the coming West Bengal assembly elections," he said.Interestingly, the BJP poll manifesto admitted Banerjee's popularity in West Bengal."Mamata's anti-CPI(M) stand is unalloyed. There is no doubt that she is fighting leader. She lives a very simple and honest life. But all these will not take Bengal far," it said."Trinamool has no plan and principles and there is no chain of command and the loyalty to only one leader is the main consideration," the manifesto added.
Referring to the Gorkhaland issue, the party said a political resolution through discussions was the only solution. The Gorkha Janamukti Morcha, which is an ally of BJP, has been spearheading the Gorkhaland movement. The BJP has projected itself as a third alternative in the state where political preferences is polarised between the ruling Left Front and the Trinamool-Congress combine. The party has decided to contest in all the 294 seats in alliance with some small parties.
