Kolkata, April 8 (IANS) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is getting much support from the people of West Bengal and is set to surprise everyone with its performance in the April-May assembly elections, a party leader said Friday.
‘In previous Lok Sabha and assembly elections in West Bengal, the lotus has already blossomed. The BJP did well under the able leadership of (party state president) Rahul Sinha in the state and came out as strong opposition. The BJP will give a big surprise in Bengal. In the elections, it will prove to be the dark horse,’ party’s national spokesman Syed Shahnawz Hussain told a press conference here.
‘In many places, we will win. The party will come out with a big strength in the West Bengal assembly,’ he added.
Hussain said the elections would mark the end of communists in West Bengal. ‘If development is the issue, then the (Left Front) government cannot return,’ he said.
In Assam, the BJP was fighting elections to form the government, he said, adding this time the party would also leave its mark in the Kerala assembly polls.
